Another Valentine’s Day celebration has now arrived at our doorstep. Regardless if you’re meeting your valentine in person, or you decide to play it safe and convene over a video call or social media, there must be libations that pair well in the spirit of celebration.

Lucky for you, there doesn’t need to be a mad dash performed on your end while looking for cocktail recipes in all the wrong places. Cointreau,
Mount Gay Rum and The Botanist Islay Dry Rum has you covered with a choice of five recipes guaranteed to spice things up and make even the most prominent love-birds fall for each other all over again.

Cointreau Passion and Pepper Fizz

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz Fresh Lime
  • 2 Fresh Passion Fruit
  • 1 Slice Thai Chili Pepper
  • 2 oz Soda Water

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients apart from soda water and in a cocktail shaker
  • Add ice and shake until well-chilled
  • Fine strain into a chilled highball glass
  • Top off with soda water
  • Garnish with a passion fruit wedge

Cointreau Between The Sheets

Ingredients:

  • 0.75 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz Mount Gay Silver Rum
  • 1 oz Rémy Martin Vsop Cognac
  • 0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and add ice
  • Shake and strain into a martini or coupe glass

Mount Gay Rum Out of Office Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Mount Gay Rum Black Barrel
  • 0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.5 oz Fresh Grapefruit
  • 0.5 oz Cinnamon Syrup
  • 0.5 oz Falernum

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to shaker
  • Add ice and shake
  • Strain over ice in rocks glass
  • Garnish with grapefruit wheel

The Botanist Strawberry Bianco Martini

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Strawberry-Infused The Botanist Islay Dry Gin*
  • 1 oz Bianco Vermouth
  • Garnish: Fresh Mint Leaf

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
  • Stir to dilute and chill completely
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a single fresh mint leaf

To infuse The Botanist:

  • Thinly slice 1.5 cups of fresh strawberries. Combine strawberries with one 750ml bottle of The Botanist into a sealable container. Allow to infuse for 24 hours before fine straining out strawberry particles.

The Botanist Fig Martinez

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 0.25 oz Fig reduction*
  • 2 Dashes Orange Bitters
  • Garnish: Fig and/or Orange Peel

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
  • Stir to dilute and chill completely
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a fig and/or orange peel

To make fig reduction:

  • Combine 1 cup fig preserves with 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring mixture to a simmer over low to medium heat and cook until mixture is reduced by half. Remove from heat and strain out any seeds if present. Place fig reduction in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
